entry 7 - fresh

Have you ever wondered about where food comes from and how? Well this film, Fresh, answers those questions and many more you may have. Fresh is an educational film about the changes in our food system. It starts off by talking about the causes and effects of industrialized food production. Then, goes on to talk about how they are changing the way farms are run and how food is produced. As well as how the land is cared for and how food is distributed. But here’s my thoughts on it.. I think the purpose of the film was to educate people about how food is really produced and where it comes from and how that system is changing. The audience for this movie would most likely be students or people who enjoy educational movies, maybe even farmers. I think the tone is formal, this impacts me as a viewer because it shows the seriousness of the movie and how the information given are facts. A part that stood out to me the most was at the beginning of the movie the farmers were throwing chickens to the ground. I think we should care and be more gentle with not only these animals but all the animals located on the farm. Especially considering they provide us with nutritious meals such as eggs and milk. I think this film is very important because it shows all the negatives and positives of the way farms are run. What are your thoughts on this film?
