entry 10 - soccer

Today I'd like to talk about my favorite sport: SOCCER! Soccer, also known as fútbol, is a team sport in which 11 players on each side of the field compete to score into the opposing team's net. I started playing soccer when I was eight years old and continued until I was fourteen. My positions were on defense or right wing. I was a starter, but I wasn't particularly good. I had a great time with my team and made a lot of new friends. I played for six years before giving up because, while I enjoyed the sport, it took up the majority of my free time. I would practice almost every day after school, and on weekends, I would attend games or tournaments from very early in the morning until late in the afternoon. I'd practice almost every day after school, and on weekends, I'd go to games or tournaments from early in the morning until late at night. This was due to the fact that I was not the only one who played; in fact, my entire family, including my parents, participated. So, even after I decided to quit, I continued to attend games and tournaments for my family members, but it was worth it because I enjoyed watching soccer as much as I did playing it. Soccer was and still is a big part of my life, and I'm grateful my parents decided to have me join a sports team :). Did you play any sports groiwng up?
